Obvious Trans Hatred in Alabama

I just need to rant for a moment.

I made a flyer to promote our therapy services and received permission to hang it on a community board at a local gas station. There were about 5 different flyers on the board as well, advertising lawn care, lost pets, cars for sale, etc.

I posted my flyer with 10 new thumb tacks I purchased at the store. I added so many tacks in case someone needed to post their own flyer. I didn't want someone taking all of mine and my flyer get blown away.

Just a few hours later, all of the original flyers were still pinned to the community board, except for mine...

All of my thumb tacks were still stuck where I put them, but my flyer was missing, except for a couple of torn corners. I was amazed!

So I decided to post a few advertisements online. How long did those ads last before they were flagged and removed as "inappropriate"? 2 hours!!

I have not, and will not, allow this to deter me and my goals to help people!! The fact that people in Alabama are so eager and willing to deny Transgender citizens therapy services literally proves that we need those services!

My point is, there are so many people "against" being Trans that they would even attempt to deny us therapy!! Don't let others get you down!! Stand up for your right to be yourself and stay determined! Every jerk out there who would willingly try to suppress your right to exist, is just another reason to keep trying!

That is horrible and just plain wrong for someone to do that. Trans people have as much right to get help and to live their lives happily as anyone else. I hope we can slowly change the stigma that goes with transitioning and people will stop their ignorance and start allowing people to just live their lives as they choose!!

Agreed. I wasn't completely shocked that my flyer had been taken down. I probably expected some bigot to tear it down at some point. I just didn't think it would be so fast!
