Take a look around on the forum and you can see that the Transgender Section is labeled with numerous categories and topics! And I'm sure you're wondering why the other forum sections (gay, lesbian, etc) are empty.
The simple answer is: I can only do so much on my own! LOL
As a Transgender woman, I have a better understanding of Trans topics and struggles, so I know how to include topics which apply to Trans individuals. But when it comes to our other sections of the forum, I don't have personal experience with the struggles of gay men, lesbians or other people! If I were to just guess what topics should be included, I could end up with useless topics no one is interested in, and worse, I could end up unintentionally insulting someone, and that's the last thing I want to do!
With that said, we need someone to help moderate the forum in one of those sections! First, ask yourself a few questions:
~ Am I gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc.?
~ Do I have time to work in these categories?
~ Do I have a desire to help others?
~ Am I willing and able to post free advertisements online promoting a specific section (gay, lesbian, etc.)?
If that sounds like you, we want your help!! And you won't be alone! We are here to help each other through every step of building the forum.
And once you've decided to stick around and be a contributing member of our organization, you will be granted access to a company email address to conduct business! For example, the email address I use to conduct off-forum activities is: Trans@LGBTHS.org
And best of all, you will have a safe place to discuss your own issues or struggles and get/offer help and support!
You can volunteer, and it doesn't cost you anything except time. I know they say 'time is money', but when you volunteer time to help others, it's always worth the price!
