Has anyone had any success using www.gofundme.com/ to help them transition?
After browsing on Facebook through numerous Transgender groups, I've noticed a recurring theme: a lot of GoFundMe ads, and most of them with VERY little or NO donations at all. Most of the ones I've seen have absolutely no donations, and the most I've ever seen was maybe $20.
I tried to get funds for my Transition last year and nothing ever happened, and I marketed the heck out of it.
I can't help but feeling like many more Trans men and women would be able to transition if we all pitched in and helped each other. A couple dollars here and there from everyone in the Trans community would end up helping a lot of us meet our financial goals.
With that said, I would like to hear about any success stories using the GoFundMe platform. How much did you receive in donations? How long did it take? Were you able to transition at all?
