In Oregon, Medicaid Now Covers Transgender Medical Care

Obviously this isn't in Alabama, but it's progress that needs to be celebrated!!

If you aren't already aware, Medicaid is medical insurance for people with a very low income. For example, to qualify for Medicaid, a family of FOUR must earn less than $25,550 per year. That's roughly $2,000 per month for a family with two children. That's not a lot of money at all for that size of a family.

And I'm thrilled to see Transgender people getting the medical care they need regardless of their poverty status. Being poor should never be a reason to be denied proper medical care.
