Here Is The ArticleI don't see a reference to the "every 29 minutes" aspect of this article, but assuming this is an accurate statistic, it is truly heartbreaking. And what makes this situation even more troubling, is the lack of coverage by major news organizations. To attack and hurt, or even go as far as killing someone based on their gender identity should be a hate crime.
We have anti-discrimination laws to protect people from being fired from their jobs simply because they are a women, but a Transgender woman is killed based on the same principle, and there isn't public outcry for justice?
Why is that? We deserve equal protection, and because of narrow-minded bigotry, murder is being openly ignored by main-stream media. This is the worst kind of discrimination, because people are being killed in the process.
We need to lobby for support in the Alabama Legislator to ensure swift justice for murdered Trans women by taking vicious murderers off the street.
