Unless you're been hiding out on a private island and cutting off any form of communication with the world, you are aware of the recent events regarding Transgender individuals. All manner of news reports regarding Transgender people. But if you pay close attention, you will realize that this is going to get very bad!!!
Transgender people are literally under attack! Not long ago, the "Social Hot Button" was the anti-gay movement. It was in the news CONSTANTLY! And now that gay marriage, (or as I call it, 'Marriage'), has been legalized and other than a few states still fighting those court decisions, the issue is dead. The countries bigots and ignorant jack-holes has moved on to attacking Transgender full time.
I didn't use to EVER hear about being Transgender, and now it's in the news DAILY!!!
Let's see how we're being attacking. There's the whole 'Bathroom Debate" regarding Transgender bathroom rights. And have you ever thought of this? "Transgender bathroom rights" is now a 'thing'. Can you imagine a movement called the "White, middle-upper class bathroom rights"
HELL NO!! In fact, I recall another minority having bathroom issues similar to this in our country. 1950's black America. Ring a bell?? Have we actually taken a social back-step by at least 70 years?? How?
And now, in the middle of all this, the North Carolina Governor, Pat McCrory, established a state-wide "Anti-Transgender Phone Hotline". It's similar to the 1-800-Stop-Crime hotline where you report local crimes. But in this case, the phone hotline is specifically set-up for reporting nothing more than Transgender people in the "wrong" bathroom. Can you believe it?? It's a systematic attack!
And then, let's not forget this! Apparently, this country, the place we call home, has become SO DANGEROUS to the LGBT community, that Britain has issued a WARNING to LGBT travelers saying:
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! The home of the free is so dangerous to us we need other countries warning its LGBT citizens not to come here?? What the hell!!
And then, we have Ohio Governor, John Kasich, saying, "LGBT people who face discrimination should “just for a second get over it.” Can you IMAGINE hearing a governor say that to another oppressed minority? It's truly absurd what has happened and what is left to come!
